Is Colorado Legit? Is Texas Finally Back? College Football Reactions

This has been a crazy start to the college football season. From unexpected victors to new dominance this season has started off with a bang. In this article ill react, maybe overreact, to the games from the past two weeks.

It's Prime Time baby! Deion really did what no one expected. Turning around this Colorado team in this short of a time is ridiculous. Lets be honest, it wouldn’t be hard for the Buffaloes to improve from 1-11, but taking down a talented Horned Frogs team coming off a CFP championship appearance is impressive. They took care of Nebraska in an easy fashion, improving to 2-0. Fans knew Coach Prime brought talent with him but boy does this team have some firepower. At the helm, you have Deoins own son, Sheduer. He's been very impressive through these first few games. His pocket awareness and playmaking ability is next level. But the highlight of this team is the phenom Travis Hunter. It’s not fair how good he can go out and Moss dbs for touchdowns, and then go out and lock down their best receiver the next play. It seems like Hunter never gets tired, he's gotta be a superhero. In my opinion, he is my heisman. Sorry Caleb Williams, once you play a real defense, then we can consider a repeat. But in all seriousness, Sheduer and Hunter’s play truly proves that HBCU football is overlooked. These guys were doubted simply because they played at Jackson State, but currently they are lighting it up in the power 5.

Hook em! Is Texas finally back? It seems Longhorns fans say this every year, but this year is definitely different. I mean after a comfortable win against the Tide in Bryant Denny is one of the most impressive feats in college football. Quinn Ewers looks dialed in. He’s lost weight and increased his focus, both things we saw in full effect as he took down the Tide. He didn’t do it all himself however. Xavier Worthy is one of the most electric players in college football. Nobody can keep up with him. If he's lined up one on one, good luck. And lets not forget about that defense. Their scheme along with the talent they have was clicking on all cylinders. Steve Sarkesian has things cooking in Austin… but lets see if they can continue this play all year.

Is the Alabama reign over? Should Nick Saban retire? The answer to the first is questionable, but Nick is not going anywhere. Sure, Alabama hasnt had the best last few years, and it seems that Georgia is taking over as the kings of the CFP. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Alabama is still a dominant team, and their playoff hopes are not yet crushed. Their path to the cfp hasn't really changed at all. However, we can't ignore the huge issues the Tide faced against Texas. Milroes inexperience really showed in this game. I mean, it's only his 3rd start ever, and it’s hard to execute when you have no time to throw and the ball is snapped to your feet every time. The real issues were in the Tides offensive line. Milroe is one of the most talented QBs in the nation– that throw to Burton was a dot. However, his decision making is poor. I think with more practice he will get it together, but time is not what Bama has. Missing the CFP for the second year in a row would bring a lot of questions for the future of this program.

Let's end it off in Tallahassee. Jordan Travis and FSU have come to make a statement this year. Travis looked excellent in the Noles easy win over Jayden Daniels and LSU. His decision making is sharp along with his great arm talent. He's definitely made a case for the heisman so far. But what has truly made the difference for this FSU team is new star WR Keon Coleman. This dude is legit. It seems like he catches every ball thrown at him. Elite route running and huge catch radius always make up for a great receiver. With Clemson and downfall, the Seminoles should have a pretty easy path to winning the ACC. In my opinion UNC is the only team that stands in their way.

There you have it. My overall reactions to the first few weeks of college football.
